How does the Spill-STOP work?
The Spill-STOP is pneumatically operated and attaches to the air exhaust of a diaphragm pump. When a diaphragm failure occurs in the pump, the pumped liquid is expelled out of the pump air exhaust. The pump air exhaust runs through the Spill-STOP and after approximately two cups of liquid accumulates in the Spill-STOP
®, it turns off the pump it is attached to. In addition, the Spill-STOP can turn on a standby pump or sound an alarm. Please see the Spill-STOP operating instructions for complete details.

How do I know the Spill-STOP is working properly?
There is a specific test procedure that should be performed periodically to insure the Spill-STOP will function correctly in the event of a diaphragm failure. Please see the Spill-STOP operating instructions for complete details.

Can I use more than one pump with a single Spill-STOP?
Yes, however, when one pump is shut down due to diaphragm failure, all pumps attached to the same Spill-STOP will be shut off. Consult factory for proper installation of this application.

Can electrical components be connected to the Spill-STOP?
Yes, with the use of an optional pneumatic pressure to electric contact switch.

Will moisture in the compressed air activate the Spill-STOP?
Yes, if moisture in the compressed air is excessive it will collect in the Spill-STOP and pump shut off will occur.

How do I drain the liquid collected in the Spill-STOP?
The Spill-STOP has a petcock valve located at the bottom of the unit. A tube or hose should be attached to the petcock so that liquid can be drained into a container suitable for the type of liquid involved.
